The Negative Tu Commands are just as they sound.
They are used to tell people, objects, and etc... to not do a certain verb
Basically in the English term , you could say that it's the same as adding a "Don't" in front of a verb
Ex. Don't Eat Don't Sleep Don't Talk Don't Die
Steps to making it so is done by:
First: Choose your verb.. duhhhh
Second: Conjugate your verb into the "Yo" Present Form... Ha! been awhile since you done that?
Ex. Caminar= Camino
Jugar= Juego
Comer= Como
Third: drop the "-O"
Fourth: If the orginal verb had an "-Ar" ending then add "-Es"
The the ending was "-Er" then add "-As"
Fifth: Add a "No" in front of the verb
Sixth: Say it in a bossy way because it always sounds better like that....
Typically in the English, we say sentences where the subject is not specific. This is known as impersonal.
For example:
You have to work way too hard to get an “A” in this class.
They say eggs are healthy.
One should never take anything for granted.
The subjects of all of these sentences are not specific, and usually the impersonal se reflects subjects such as you, they, one, etc.
When conjugated in Spanish, it reflects the following:
You need to study to make good grades---- Se necesita estudiar para sacar buenas notas.
How does one say “pizza” in English?--- ¿Cómo se dice "pizza" en Ingles?
They open the stores at 10:00 AM---- Abren las tiendas a las diez de la mañana. *
*Notice that when conjugating the impersonal se in the plural, the se is not included, simply conjugate in the 3rd personal plural tense.
This trend continues with all impersonal se conjugations! So have no worries! Best of luck :D
The Polite way to Command people
As always there is a certain way to talking to superiors in the world or languages
In the language of Spanish if you are telling a superior a command then you are obligated to conjugate the verb into a certain tense
The steps to conjugating to a normal way of formal command are:
step 1) Choose a verb
step 2) Conjugate to the Present "Yo" form
step 3) Drop the "-o"
step 4) If the verb was originally ended with a "-Ar" ending then you add a "-e" to the end
If the verb originally ended with a "-Er" ending then you add a "-a" to the end
*step 5) If the subject the verb is referring to is plural then simply add a "-n" to the end.
******** Never forget that while conjugating to formal command form that you must always change the ending of the verb if the verb ends with
-car= -que
-gar= -gue
-zar= -cue
So if you wanted to conjugate "Walk" to a superior you would say:
******************Camine
